What Is Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship 2016?

Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship 2016 has been launched with an aim to assist economically backward but meritorious students in the state of West Bengal to pursue higher studies.

Eligibility criteria

Students residing as well as studying in West Bengal are eligible for Vivekananda scholarship. 75% marks in 10^th are must for those at higher secondary level, diploma. For students at undergraduate level, 75% marks in 12^th including two language subjects are must. Postgraduate students should have at least 55% marks in graduation. Moreover, annual family income should be 250,000 or less.

Application procedure

Students first need to open the website and select the category. Then after selecting the language, create a new account. Select the user type and fill the application form. Proceed with taking a print out of the application form and attach all the required documents. Finally, it needs to be sent to the required address of different categories of students.

Terms and conditions

Documents to be attached: For the acceptance of application for Vivekananda scholarship, few essential documents should be provided attached with the form. These include marksheet photocopy, first page of passbook, ration card or voter id card, income certificate, income affidavit (both original) and recent passport size photograph (signed).

Different student categories:The different categories of students included in the scholarship program are class 11 students, first year students of UG and PG courses, and other Professional courses approved by UGC, excluding Engineering and Medical, 1^st or 2^nd year students of polytechnic Diploma, first year UG and PG courses of Engineering and Technology and the first year UG (Medical) students and UG (Nursing) students and students of Pharmacy in three Government institutes located at Jalpaiguri, Kalyani and Bankura.
